Greetings from Cynthia Plumas, Owner & Program Director

Cynthia  founded Cynergy Dance Company in July 2003.  She has over 25 years of dance experience and
has been teaching all levels of dance for over 18 years. She currently teaches Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Hip-Hop,
Lyrical and Salsa dance classes. Cynthia continues to develop her dance training and technqiue by
participating in various dance workshops and competitions. Cynthia earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in
Management from Texas State University in 1993. She has managed Cynergy Dance Studio for seven
years.  Her goal is to continue building her business and her dance education by providing a versatile
and unequivocal dance program suitable for students of all ages in order to help them reach their
individual goals, improve self-confidence and provide them with an enjoyable and energetic dance
experience.  

Cynthia enjoys reaching out to the community in any way possible.  She has volunteered in several
community events and is a supporter of the San Antonio United Way Program.  Cynthia has been a
pageant mentor and was also selected to  judge the Miss San Antonio Teen Pageants in 2004 and 2006
and the 2007 San Antonio Jam Fest  Dance competition and the 2008 Talent Explosion Dance
Competition in San Marcos. Cynthia is a proud sponsor and mentor of two dance students competing in
the 2009 National American Miss Pageant in Anaheim, California. She is also Cynergy's lead
Choreographer for Special Events to include Quinceanera, Sweet 16 and Weddings.  Cynthia has
choreographed dances for several special event groups in the cities of  Houston, Austin and San Antonio
areas.

Kimberly Olivarez, Dance Team Director
Kimberly has over  12  years of dance and teaching experience. She teaches jazz, hip-hop, ballet, leap
and turns, cardio dance and is Cynergy's Competitive Dance Team Instructor. She is a former dance
team member at Churchill High School. Kimberly has danced for the WNBA Silver Stars team during the
2003-2004 season and was also a member of the San Antonio Spurs Dance Team during the
2004-2007 seasons. She was selected nation wide to represent the San Antonio Spurs for the first ever
2007 NBA All-Star dance team in Las Vegas.  Kimberly has danced with Will Smith, Bryan Adams, Laurie
Ann Gibson, Frankie J., Paula Dianda, Clay Walker, and along side Christina Aguilera.  Kimberly  also
coached the Dance Team at Antonian College Preparatory High School during the 2006-2007 school
year. In addition to teaching at Cynergy Dance, Kimberly is also a Television Show host for Zonido, a
Latin Music and Video Show, which airs on KSAT-12. Visit Kimberly's website at

Lucy Hart, Folklorico Instructor
Lucy "Morena" Hart began dancing at 7 years old. She danced in a private group for 6 years. At the age of
13, she was a member of ''Casa De La Juventud'' dance group (CODE) for 2 years. At the age of 15, she
began dancing at ''La Universidad De Guadalajara'' and graduated from ''Escuela de Artes Plasticas''
where she received a Diploma of ''Maestra Coreografa''. She was a director of a famous Folkloric group
in Los Angeles, Ca. ''Mexicaly Dance Co.'' She also had her own folklorico dance group known as Grupo
Folklorico de Lucy Camacho.  Lucy began teaching at Cynergy Dance during the summer of 2009 where
she began working with beginner folklorico students. Her competitive dance group, "Las Palomitas",
earned numerous awards at their 2010 Dance Competitions. Awards earned include a Platinum Award
from the Showstopper National Dance Competition and received a special judges award titled, "Did Not
Skip A Beat". Her competitive team also received a High Gold Award at the Starbound National Talent
Competition. In addition, the competitive group also earned the following Special Judges award for
Duets performed: High Score Award for the Junior Petit Duet Division and "Excellent Precision & Timing".





Leslie Perez, Ballet & Modern Instructor
Leslie Pérez is a native of Laredo, Texas.  After high school, Ms. Pérez moved to Denton, Texas where
she graduated from Texas Woman's University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Dance.  At TWU she
studied with professors Sarah Gamblin (Bebe Miller Company), Melissa M. Young (Dallas Black Dance
Theatre), and Jordan Fuchs (Jordan Fuchs Dance Company).  She also attended workshops taught by
Amy O'Neal (Locust), and master classes taught by guest artist Anthony J. Russo (Tapdemics and
Tapdogs).  Ms. Pérez studies a wide variety of dance genres such as modern/post-modern, ballet,
improvisation, African, and hip-hop dance.  As a former student at Texas Woman's University, Ms. Perez
had the opportunity to perform for The International Dance Company, directed by Gladys Keeton, and
DanceWorks Repertory Company, directed by Mary Williford-Shade.  She has also performed
professionally for a local Laredo dance company called Laredo Dance Initiative.  Leslie Pérez is currently
living in San Antonio, Texas where she continues to spread her love of dance through instruction at
Cynergy Dance Company.
Ayla Akers, Belly Dance Instructor
Ayla Akers began studying dance at the age of three and since then has studied numerous
disciplines of dance including the contemporary forms of the United States, latin styles, native folk
dances of various countries, and finally found her passion in belly dance. She shares this passion
by performing at private parties, restaurants, and fundraising and community events. In her
classes, Ayla aims to hone and refine students’ technique, build and strengthen the muscles
essential to proper form and execution, and develop grace and charisma for charming
performances.  She continues to improve her own knowledge and skill in dance through attending
drills and technique workshops and studying the styles of other artists. Ayla is available for
performances and private and group lessons.






Pam Gil,  Dance Team Coordinator & Assistant Business Manager
Pam Gil has been Cynergy's Dance Team Coordinator since 2008. She's a proud mom of a
Cynergy Dance student. She communicates important information to dance team parents and
ensures that our dance teams have everything they need for their performances. Pam has also
assumed duties as Cynergy's Assistant Business Manager and is quite welcoming to all who
come into the dance studio for the first time. Cynergy Dance is very pleased to have Pam on staff
and appreciates her hard work and dedication to the students, parents and business office.
